Indian spinner R.Ashwin replaced out-of-form Harbhajan Singh in the top bracket of BCCI's list of central retainership contracts. While Ishant Sharma was also demoted from Grade A to Grade B.

Harbhajan & Ishant have spend the better part of the year out of form in whatever chances they had.

But Ashwin on the other hand had been performing good. He took 49 wickets in 8 Tests since last Nov.
In ODIs he took 56 wickets in 40 matches, in T20s 12 wickets from 15 matches.

After having Dravid & Laxman retired, BCCI made only Ashwin the new name in the list of the top bracket(total 9), where the players are played annually Rs.one crore.
