Caught One SHORT...

The worst thing that a motorbike rider can do is to celebrate before he sees the chequered flag. That was exactly what Riccardo Russo, the Yamaha Team Italia FMI rider, did at the 2012 Italian CIV championship race in Mugello, Italy.

Russo held a comfortable lead at the end of the penultimate lap. As he headed into the final lap of the race, he started celebrating his victory one lap too early.

Russo threw his arms up in the air even as other riders passed him. He clambered up to his bike and was seen fist pumping the air celebrating while a majority of his competitors whizzed past him. At the end when he finally realized it, he ended up dropping from 1st to 14th place.

Having racked up more than a million views since being uploaded on to YouTube, Russo's embarrassing mistake has probably garnered more hits than his victory would ever have.
