On July 13th, 2012 Brett Lee announced his
retirement from the International cricket, bringing an end to his 13 year illustrious career. He said that he has thought a lot over it and
arrived to this conclusion.
Brett Lee was bron on 8th November, 1976. He is
nicknamed as Binga which is after “Bing Lee” ( a chain of electronic stores).
Over 13 years Lee played 76 tests, 221 ODI’s and claimed 310(tests)
& 374(ODI) wickets. He is second highest wicket taker for Australia after
Mcgrath in ODI’s. After the departure of the bowling greats Mcgrath and Warne,
it was brett lee who led the Aussie pace attack from the front.
Brett Lee not only contributed the team through bowling but did in batting & fielding as well. He was considered as a strong lower order
batsman who often troubled opponents by building partnerships. Also not to
forget he is an exceptional fielder.
"Brett Lee's classic wicket celebration!!!"
"Brett Lee got hurt while fielding in a match
against India in World Cup, still
he manages to come-out and bowl!!!"

Brett Lee was prone to many injuries but he always came back
very strong. He is well known for his athleticism and speed bowling. He recorded
the 2nd fastest ball ever bowled(after Shoib Akthar).
However Lee said he would still continue to play in KFC T20 Big
Bash & IPL.( He recently won IPL title in India from KKR side). So finally,
another great personality in cricket retires. Maybe it’s time for Pointing to
start thinking about retirement too!?
